Junior Almeida

Inspired and encouraged by his parents, Alberto Almeida a.k.a. Junior Almeida always danced from a young age, but it was during his time at clubs that he discovered that dance was going to be more than just a recreational activity and become his life's passion.

Beginning with Lindy Hop and Jazz, it was in the Street Dance Culture where Jr. Almeida identified himself as a dancer in 1981 in New York, watching breakers in the streets and feeling amazed by the energy.

In the beginning, he would consider himself more like a popper but after watching “The Lockers” and focusing on learning from Don Campbell (the creator) he spent a decade improving his skills to later become a precursor of the dance in France.

Born in Brazil, he has over 40 years of dance experience and is a pioneer in the universe of Street Dance in Europe, respected and recognized by dancers from all over the globe.

Over the years, his dedication and talent led him to explore various styles, and, beyond his performances, he has also been a mentor, sharing his knowledge with aspiring dancers through workshops, masterclasses, and stages worldwide.

Due to his brilliant career Street Dance Roots honors his legacy and proudly inducts him into the Hall of Fame.
